Welcome to the Fujitsu Microelectronics February 1996 CD-ROM.
To receive updates of this CD-ROM, don't forget to complete a registration form. 
We have provided three methods to complete your registration:
1) Shrink-wrapped with the CD-ROM is a registration Business Reply Card, just complete and
 drop in the mail.
2) On the CD Welcome Page, click on CD-ROM Registration. Here you will find a form with
 delivery instructions.
3) Visit our WWW site to complete an on-line registration. From the homepage, click on the 
CD-ROM registration button and when prompted enter "cdrom" as the username and "FMIVOL" 
as the password. Then, complete and submit the registration form.

This information packed CD-ROM comes with Adobe Acrobat Reader.  This software will
 allow you to easily view all the content and datasheets Fujitsu Microelectronics has provided.
 Please follow the instructions below for simple installation on your particular platform.

Please note that Adobe Acrobat Reader only allows you to open 10 windows at one time. If you
 receive an error message that states "maximum number of files are already open" when opening
 a document, simply close windows that you are not currently viewing.

Fujitsu recommends you install the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader provided on this CD if you 
are a Windows or Macintosh user. This version includes search capabilities that allow you to
 conduct keyword searches of the entire CD. 

To activate the search capabilities, follow these instructions after you have installed the
 provided Acrobat Reader: 
1) On the tool bar, click on the "binocular" icon furthest to the right.
2) In the pop-up window, click on "Indexes...".
3) Click on "Add...".
4) From the CD-ROM drive, choose the file "index.pdx", then click "OK".
5) The Fujitsu index will be added to the available indexes. Choose "OK".

Then simply, click on the same binocular icon, type in a keyword or phrase, then select
 "Search".

To view the World Wide Web portion of this CD, you will need a Netscape browser, version
 2.0 or better.  Instructions on how to download a Netscape browser follow the instructions for
 installing Adobe Acrobat. After you have successfully installed Netscape, open the file
called "INDEX1.HTM" which is located in the "WWWSITE" directory.


HOW TO INSTALL ADOBE ACROBAT READER
 =====================================

Macintosh Users:
- Double click on FMIVOL icon if window is not automatically opened.
- To install the copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader provided on the CD, double click on the Acrobat 
Installer folder, then double click on the Acrobat Installer icon. Follow installation instructions 
on your screen.
- Double Click on the PDF file named "DOUBLE_CLICK_ME".

Windows 3.x and NT Users:
 - From the File Manager select the CD-ROM drive.
- Double Click on "Install.exe" and follow installation instructions on your screen.
- From the Program Manager, open the Fujistu Folder. 
- Double click on the "Fujitsu" file icon.

Windows 95 Users:
- From the File Manager select the CD-ROM drive.
- Follow installation instructions on your screen.
- From the Program Manager, open the Fujistu Folder. 
- Double click on the "Fujitsu" file icon.

Unix Users:
- If an error message identifying that the CD is not compatabile with ISO 9660 specifications 
appeared when you accessed this CD, please disregard. This CD has been partioned for 
multiple platforms which will not affect performance on the UNIX platform.
- Double click on the folder "acsearch".
- Double click on the folder "unix".
- Double click on the install icon.
- Run the installation in a shell tool and follow installation instructions on your screen.
- When installation is complete, hit return to close the shell if it does not close automatically.
- To launch the Acrobat Reader, from the file manager, select the appropriate directory and 
double click. Double click on the AcroRead folder. Open the "bin" folder and double click on the 
Acroread icon. Note: application may be run with or without a shell tool.
- Then open the Welcome Page. In the "Selection" window, type:
/cdrom/fmivol/main/welcome.pdf
- Select "OK" or hit return.



INSTALLING NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR
 ================================

If you have Internet access, simply FTP to "ftp.netscape.com". Select the
directory which reflects your platform and read the "README" file for
further installation instructions. If you have Web access, you can reach
the Netscape home page from this URL: "http://home.netscape.com". Once
there, click on the "DOWNLOAD" button for the latest installation
instructions for your particular platform.


 DISTRIBUTING THE ACROBAT READERS
 ================================

Details on the terms of use for the Acrobat Reader products are
found in the Adobe Systems Incorporated Electronic End User License
Agreement that is installed with each product.

This CD ROM contains Acrobat Reader products for five platforms:
- Macintosh (Acrobat Reader version 2.1)
- Windows (Acrobat Reader version 2.1)
- DOS (Acrobat Reader version 2.1)
- UNIX [Sun] (Acrobat Reader version 2.1)
- UNIX [SGI] (Acrobat Reader version 2.1)

You may make unlimited copies of the Acrobat Reader 2.1 software
(for Macintosh or Windows platforms) or Acrobat Reader 2.1 software (for
SUN, SGI or DOS platforms) and give copies to other persons
or entities as long as the copies contain the Electronic End User
License Agreement and the same copyright and other proprietary
notices that appear on or in the Software.
